Upon arrival at Katunayaka International airport you will meet BH Lanka Tours’ representative, then he will drive you to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, originally founded in order to protect and look after the wild elephants found wandering in and around the forests of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world, where you may have the opportunity to feed them and give them a bath at the nearby river.
TThereafter, proceed to Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and bio diverse rainforests. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a walk around Kandy’s busy city centre, including a tour of the Central Market, before engaging with a cultural dance show which is inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance and cultural heritage.
In the morning, you will visit the Peradeniya Royal Garden, which is known as one of the best botanical gardens in Asia. Thereafter, you’ll have a wonderful journey towards Sri Lanka’s tea region of Nuwara Eliya. It is often referred to as “Little England” because many of the buildings in this city retain from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, the General’s House, the Grand Hotel, the Hill Club and the Town Post Office. Since this amazing town is located in the mountains, it’s characterized by a cool climate all year long.
While driving through the cold and misty hills that host lush green tea plantations, stop at a Tea factory to observe the rich tradition of making Ceylon Tea that kept alive up to date. Make sure to end your factory visit in style over a perfectly blended cup of tea. Thereafter, you will visit the famous Baktha Hanuman Temple and Seetha Amman Temple. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, drive down to Bentota and its breathtaking sandy beach pretty much transform your dreams and visions of a tropical paradise into an everyday reality. It is truly a symbol of peace, calmness and cleanness. There is plenty of space for everyone to settle in perfectly and to enjoy a sunbath to the fullest. In the afternoon, if you are up to it, you could visit a turtle hatchery center in Kosgoda. Both locals and international volunteers are battling for the protection of sea turtles since they are endangered creatures.
Also you can experience an amazing boat ride in the “Madu” river through the mangroves (red water trees). Along the Madu river on the boat you will arrive at Fish farm and if interested get to try Sri Lankan fish therapy.
After breakfast, you’ll visit the capital city of Colombo, which has an interesting history running back to the fifth century. Even in ancient times, this was an important port city in the East-West sea trade. Nowadays it has become a bustling modern town with a unique atmosphere. The colourful streets, restaurants and modern shopping malls attract hordes of locals and tourists alike.
In Colombo, you have the opportunity to visit the most highlighted places in the city and also do some last-minute shopping as well. Perhaps, you may intend to pop into a famous and internationally renowned restaurant in Colombo to end your trip over an unforgettable meal. Thereafter, we’ll drop you to the airport in time for your return flight.

Cancellations received earlier than 12 days prior to the departure date are fully refundable.
Cancellations received between 11 days to 8 days prior to the departure date: 50% from the payment or postpone tour with travel credits.
Cancellations received 07 days or less prior to the departure date of the tour are non-refundable.
Most entrance and activity fees are paid in local currency. We suggest you keep some Sri Lankan rupees with you while on the tour. You can exchange money at the airport or the tour leader can assist you to exchange money at local banks.
Religious places have a strict protocol when it comes to clothes and people should cover themselves up. However, usually you can wear almost anything that goes with the warm climate.
In tropical countries the weather is always unpredictable, so it will be handy to bring a rain jacket.
Sun protection, mosquito repellent, sunglasses and a hat can be very useful during your tour.
